The Retire in Dubai programme was launched in 2020. Initially, it was exclusively for those who had lived in the UAE for a long time, had become residents and reached retirement age. Now, senior citizens from other countries can apply for a residence permit, even if they have never visited the country. Once all the necessary documents have been completed, they receive a visa for 5 years with the possibility of extension.

A pension visa is available for citizens over 55 years of age who can prove their financial capabilities. The main requirements include having a stable income, savings or a pension fund.
- Long-term residence: the visa is issued for five years with the possibility of renewal.
- Easy access to services: visa recipients can utilise health and social services in the country.
- Excellent climate and infrastructure: Dubai offers ideal conditions for comfortable living and active holidays.
3 to 10 working days
- Prepare the necessary documents, including a passport, photographs and financial statements.
- Apply to the UAE migration authorities.
- Once approved, obtain a visa and enjoy life in Dubai.
- Copy of the passport of the applicant and his/her dependent family members.
- Copy of marriage certificate (if the applicant is sponsoring his/her spouse).
- Copies of the visa and Emirates ID of all persons mentioned in the application (for residents only).
- Proof of financial solvency:
- Having a deposit in a local bank worth AED 1 million or more.
- Passive income of AED 20,000 or more per month (or AED 15,000 per month for Dubai residents).
